Celebrating Pride 2020! We may not be able to gather in person, but we can gather in spirit and voice! 🌈

2020 PRIDE MINIFEST is a delightful combo of two films, one short and one feature from Bay Area filmmakers. Your screening ticket purchase will be split between AVFS and the filmmakers. The FOCUS ON… PRIDE 2020! panel on Sunday, June 21 at 2PM will feature each of the filmmakers and is free to all!

(USA, 2019, 19 min)
Directed by Brian Benson

SYNOPSIS: A musical fable about an odd yet kind man named Bayani who moves into a conservative suburban neighborhood and disrupts the otherwise comfortable homogeny. He doesn’t look or act like anyone else which causes fear and panic and eventually a demand for him to leave the neighborhood.

(USA, 2019, 56 min)
Directed by Petey Barma and Bret Parker

SYNOPSIS: Documentary about Twin Peaks Tavern, the bar that changed the face of the gay community in the 70’s by opening its windows, and the men who dared to be seen.

NOTE: The purchase window for the minifest is Thursday through Sunday with a 96-hour viewing window. Then the panel is on Sunday at 2pm. The panel will be recorded so even if you bought your ticket on Sunday at 7PM, didn’t watch until Wednesday at 11AM, you could view the recorded panel on Facebook or YouTube next weekend or whenever.
