FUTURE FILMMAKERS

after-school filmmaking Program!

Starting Wednesday, January 5th 2022, AVFS will offer a eight-week narrative filmmaking program for students grades 8-12.  Classes are open to ALL Sonoma County students and will be held at Windsor High School from 4-6PM. A maximum of 24 students will meet each Wednesday for eight weeks, January 4th – February 23rd. Students will work in groups of 2, with a max of 12 groups. This class will use cameras, lighting, and audio equipment. Editing will be done in Adobe Premiere Pro.

All equipment will be provided. All Sonoma County students welcome!

All sessions are free but there is a one-time application fee of $25. (No one will be turned away for lack of funds)

We will provide a snack to help minds stay focused, and if transportation is an issue, please let us know!

  1. Week 1 – IDEAS, RESEARCH, AND THEORY (Jan. 5th)
  2. Week 2 – STORYBOARDING (Jan. 12th)
  3. Week 3 – PRODUCTION SKILLS (Jan. 19th)
  4. Week 4 – PRODUCTION DAY (Jan. 26th)
  5. Week 5 – EDITING INSTRUCTION (Feb. 2nd)
  6. Week 6 –  EDITING LAB (Feb. 9th)
  7. Week 7 – EDITING LAB (Feb. 16th)
  8. Week 8 – SCREENING/Q&A/FEEDBACK SESSION (Feb. 23rd)
  9. Exhibition – Private/Public screening for family and friends, either in a theater or a drive-in presentation.
